This collection documents a complete system built by Random Source, based on the architecture of the Serge Modular Synthesizer. It is not a stylistic imitation. It is a direct capture of a signal philosophy that has shaped experimental electronic music for decades.

Designed by Serge Tcherepnin in the 1970s, Serge systems were conceived as laboratory instruments rather than preset machines. Their patch programmability, voltage interdependence, and resistance to fixed hierarchies made them central to institutions such as California Institute of the Arts, where modular synthesis was treated as research rather than entertainment.
