Not all music is written. Some of it is discovered.
Telequencer is a Max for Live MIDI riff machine designed for modern bass music around 140 BPM. It creates compact sequences for sub bass, reese bass, monophonic synthesizers, stabs, metallic plucks, and pitched noise.
Inspired by modular sequencing, Telequencer brings generation, repetition, mutation, and live performance together inside Ableton Live.

Heavy bass music does not require every step to contain a note.
Telequencer creates phrases with an opening anchor, a short call, space around the central snare, a response, and a final landing point.
Rests, accents, pitch movement, and note length work together as one rhythmic structure. The result feels like an intentional riff rather than a random sequence.
This approach works especially well with half time drums, broken beat, dubstep, dark UK garage influenced rhythms, and leftfield bass.

Music around 140 BPM has continually transformed sub pressure, syncopation, silence, swing, and abrupt rhythmic responses.
A powerful bass part is often not a long melody. It may consist of only a few notes placed in the correct gaps.
Telequencer brings this culture of mutation and negative space into a playable sequencing system.
It does not copy a particular artist or track. It provides a flexible musical grammar for contemporary bass production.

Generate creates a coherent phrase from the selected BaseNote and Scale.
Once a strong structure appears, preserve it and adjust the details.
Set the Velocity of any step to 0 to deactivate that step and turn it into a rest. This makes it easy to remove notes that conflict with the drums, increase the amount of space, or reshape the groove manually after generation.
Duration changes the phrase from short and percussive to broad and heavy. ShuffleRate changes the rhythmic pocket. Oct moves the complete phrase into another register without changing its internal relationships.
Telequencer combines algorithmic suggestion with direct musical control.

Telequencer includes sixteen Snake Patterns that read the same sequence through different routes.
Pattern 1 plays the original order. The other Patterns use snake shaped movement, reversals, crossings, folds, and reordered sections.
Changing the route can transform accents, rests, pitch connections, and the center of the groove without generating new notes.
Rotate moves the starting position before the sequence enters the selected Pattern.
Pattern determines the route. Rotate determines where that route begins.
Together, they can transform one phrase into many related riffs while preserving the original material.

Telequencer is particularly effective for performers who treat Ableton Live as an instrument.
Generate creates a new foundation. Snake Patterns rearrange it. Rotate shifts the entry point. Shuffle changes the groove. Duration changes the articulation of the connected synthesizer.
These controls can be performed in real time.
You can keep the same sound while the riff continuously evolves. You can return to the original phrase, move into another Pattern, remove individual steps by setting Velocity to 0, or generate a completely new call and response structure.
There is no need to program every note before the performance begins.
By interacting with Telequencer like a drum machine, sampler, or modular sequencer, unexpected riffs emerge through improvisation.
Telequencer is not simply a tool for finding finished riffs. It creates a situation in which riffs appear while you play.

A short envelope can create a tight bass stab. Brief glide can add elasticity between close notes. A longer release can turn the same sequence into slow sub movement.
Move the phrase into the middle register and it can control plucks, metallic tones, pitched noise, or tonal percussion.
One rhythmic identity can therefore become several related layers inside a track or live set.
Telequencer is a living system for generating, preserving, rearranging, rotating, editing, and performing musical relationships.
You do not simply program it. You collaborate with it.
